Fact Sheet For Saskatchewan Nursing Students Graduating In 2008
- Employment - When seeking initial employment as a graduate nurse, remember the following:
- You must be licenced by the SRNA before you can practise as a graduate nurse, registered nurse,
registered nurse (nurse practitioner) or call yourself a "nurse".
- You need to advise your employer that you cannot start employment as a "graduate nurse" for
approximately 15 days after the official completion date of the nursing education program. (Reason:
We need to receive the official transcripts from the nursing education programs and to process the
required documentation.)
- Required Documentation
- You will be required to submit a copy of your birth certificate along with any change of name documents,
such as a marriage certificate, a copy of current photo ID, and the required application forms and fees.

- You must provide satisfactory evidence of good character
- Registration/Licensure Examination
- You must write the registration/licensure examination at the first available opportunity.
- 2008 RN Examination Dates:
- February 6, 2008
- June 4, 2008
- October 8, 2008
- RN Examination Fee for 2008: $492.43 (Includes GST)
- Membership Application Fee: $36.75 (Includes GST)
- Graduate Nurse Licence: $161.02 (Includes GST)
- Canadian out-of-province writing of the examination can usually be accommodated given three months advance notice.
