Out-Of-Province Graduates

INFORMATION - CANADIAN GRADUATES

We are pleased to provide you with information and initial application forms for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses' Association.

PLEASE NOTE:

In order to practise nursing in Saskatchewan, a person MUST be registered and hold a licence to practise nursing with the SRNA. Without a licence to practise nursing, a person CANNOT call themselves, or be employed as, a "nurse," registered nurse", "graduate nurse" or "registered nurse (nurse practitioner)".

The following information and procedures are provided to assist you.

1. Complete "Application for Initial Registration by Endorsement" form along with the initial application fee of $36.75. The Initial Application fee is non-refundable.
2. Complete the "Initial Inventory Form" (hours of practice must be provided as per the SRNA Registration Year) and return it to our office together with a copy of your birth certificate; marriage certificate; copy of current practising card from another Canadian jurisdiction.
3. Send the "Verification of Original and Current/Most Recent Registration" forms to the appropriate provincial licencing bodies. They will complete their portion and return them to our office. Most licencing bodies require a fee for this service. Failure to submit the fee may result in a delay.
4. Complete the "Employment Verification and Consent for Information to be Released to the SRNA" form and return to our office. When we receive your completed form, we will request a reference report from your current or most recent employer.
5. Include only the initial application form & fee. The registration fee will be requested prior to finalizing your registration. (Separate cheques are required).
6. Your application for registration will be held in our files for five years from the date the application form is sent to you from our office.
7. If you have completed a re-entry/refresher program within the previous five years, and have not practised 1125 hours as an R.N. since that date, please have verification forwarded by the nursing program directly to our office.
