On May 7, 2020, we celebrate a new chapter of the SRNA Council with the election of new Council positions. Six SRNA members committed to the advancement of the nursing profession in Saskatchewan have been nominated for our open positions for election—President-Elect and Member-at-Large Nursing Practice Area (nursing education, nursing administration, policy or research). All candidate profiles and biographies can be viewed here.
Three positions did not receive any nominations: Member-at-Large for Electoral Region 1, Member-at-Large for Electoral Region 2 and Nominations Committee. At the Annual Meeting on May 7, an election from the floor will occur to fill the Nominations Committee as, according to bylaw, the Nominations Committee position must be elected by the membership. Following the annual meeting, Council will make a decision about the other two vacant positions.
On February 27, 2020, an email will be sent to all eligible voting members to launch the voting period, and will remain open until noon on May 7, 2020, the day of the Annual Meeting. Prior to voting, we encourage you to attend our two candidate webinars—Engaging in Your Profession Series: Get to Know Your Council Nominees – Member-at-Large Positions on March 11, 2020, and Engaging in Your Profession Series: Get to Know Your Council Nominees – President-Elect Position on March 18, 2020—to get to know your candidates and acquire the information you need for voting.
