Planning for Engagement Sessions with Members
In November, SRNA Council announced the decision to strengthen the pillars of nursing by moving towards a single mandate and support the establishment of an independent association for registered nursing in Saskatchewan. The original plan was to host engagement sessions with the membership at our annual conference previously scheduled for May 6, 2020. However, due to COVID-19 that meeting was postponed. The SRNA is currently exploring ways to host engagement sessions that will allow space for members to openly ask questions and discuss involvement in the formation of a separate association in the fall.
This move to a separate association is a proactive approach in recognition of the need for a strong advocacy voice for the profession. Having a clearly defined third pillar in registered nursing will help ensure regulatory excellence, bring clarity to the work of an independent association and strengthen the profession of registered nursing overall.
