Virtual Mentorship Series in June
As the SRNA takes measurable steps to increase engagement with registered nursing students and novice nurses, we are proud to present A Focus on Professional Accountabilities Series: Effective Mentoring – A Paradigm Shift, a three-part webinar series on effective mentoring. Join us June 9, 18 and 23 on TimedRight to discuss the paradigm shift that mentoring is going through and what that means to mentors and mentees alike.
June 9, 2020 – 12 pm to 1 pm
In this webinar, we will explore some of the basics such as the role of the mentor, benefits of mentoring, relationship building (including a trusted relationship) and phases of a relationship, to name but a few.
June 18, 2020 – 12 pm to 1 pm
In this webinar we will take a deeper dive into all things mentoring. We will explore the concept of “effective communications” that will speak to active listening, pausing technique, use of the Socratic Method, trigger words, deflections in a conversation and body language as some of the key tools mentors need in their toolbox.
June 23, 2020 – 12 pm to 1 pm
In this webinar we will look at PTSD and how mentoring can be part of the support structure. We will look at this topic from the perspective of how we can better serve someone with PTSD/mental health challenges but also from a self-care perspective. We need to be able to make sure that we are healthy physically and mentally to be in a good place to be able to help others.
