SRNA’s New Practice Advisor
The SRNA is pleased to welcome Jolene Issel RN(NP) as the newest member of the Nursing Practice team.
Jolene joined the SRNA in July and brings more than 15 years of experience as a Registered Nurse with a specialized focus in pediatrics. Her experience in both rural and urban workplaces, and her clinical and leadership positions make Jolene an excellent addition to the SRNA.
Jolene held positions both as an RN and a nurse practitioner specialized in pediatrics at Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. During this time, she also engaged in leadership with her participation in committees related to advanced nursing practice, quality assurance and safety, in addition to her involvement in adult education and student precepting. Previously, Jolene worked in Kivalliq Region, Nunavut as an RN where she earned a Community Health Nursing Certification in First Nations and Inuit Communities. She also has extensive experience in travel nursing in Texas and California prior to becoming a nurse practitioner.
Jolene’s enthusiasm for connecting with NPs and her passion for building a community of practice is something she looks forward to bringing to this new role.
In addition, the SRNA recently contracted two Saskatchewan RNs, Susan Bazylewski and Catherine Jeffery, to consult in the Complaints & Investigations department.
