Looking Forward to the next 100 years
Mark your calendars for this year's SRNA conference to be held May 1 to 3 as we celebrate moving ahead into the second century of registered nursing in Saskatchewan. Our theme of Leadership & Innovation: The next 100 years looks to build on our solid past as we lead and innovate for the next century.
To kick off the Conference we are excited to announce the SRNA is bringing the CNA Dorothy Wylie Health Leaders to Regina for its debut in the province. CNA Dorothy Wylie Health Leaders is a leading healthcare leadership development organization. The one-day Leadership Skills for Complex Times workshop focuses on practices and approaches to develop leadership skills for challenging times and changing environments and is open to all members. All attendees will have the opportunity to have their name, along with a colleague, entered to win paid attendance to the 2019 Dorothy Wylie Health Leaders Institute in Toronto.
This year’s Conference will be filled with sessions featuring important topics focused on leadership and innovation in nursing. Michael Villeneuve, CEO of the Canadian Nurses Association, will open the Conference as our keynote speaker. Additional topics of education sessions will include how nurses can respond to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission health calls to action and a panel of health sector leaders and students discussing the challenges facing registered nursing and how we can learn from the past to build on the future. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for continuing updates and information on the SRNA Conference.
May 2 will end with the 2018 Awards of Excellence dinner where we will recognize and celebrate nurses from across the province who have demonstrated their dedication and commitment to the nursing profession and the delivery of safe, high quality care. Be sure to wear your brightest spring colours as we Celebrate Our Bright Future.
And finally, on May 3, you will have the opportunity to participate in the work and direction of your SRNA by adding to the conversation at the Annual General Meeting.
